The Question -- Why Do Asian Women Date White Men?
Depending on who you ask you will get a variety of answers to this question. Based on my research, this is what I have found to be the common conclusion:
Asian women, particularly Asian women in America are said to want the best life has to offer; and why not? They are driven, they are independent, they are passionate, they are intelligent women who don't have an inferiority complex contrary to what others suggest in their answers to this ever enduring question. Asian women (Asian American specifically) are largely confident women
who believe they deserve to have the best.
That being said, there is a tendency, even amongst these intelligent, educated women,to regard Caucasian men as the ultimate of prize.
Successful White men greatly outnumber successful Asian men; so for the Asian woman looking to fit herself into her idea of the ideal life, she finds herself with fewer options inside the Asian race. She is faced with the dilemma of settling for an Asian man who does not meet her non-racially motivated pre-requisites just to stay 'true' to her race, or going after exactly what she wants.
The common conclusion, however, is not necessarily the only conclusion. There are some who will argue that, in fact, it is nothing more than an inferiority complex that motivates the Asian woman's interest in the White male. Asian women are accused by their fellow Asians, particularly Asian men who take offense at the implications of an Asian woman's chosing a White male over an Asian male, of "selling out". That is
betraying and belittling their own race by suggesting an inferiorty in Asian men through their choice to date Caucasian men.
Asian women reportedly don't date White men because they think White men are more attractive than any other group of men, or because they think having a White man will enhance their worth. They are apparently already very secure in their self-worth. If anything, it might be the notion that White men will treat them better than Asian men, respect them more highly and pamper them the way women want to be pampered that might inspire them to make a decision based on a stereotype.
Overall, Asian women are said to have less racially motivated reasons for choosing to date White men than women of other non-Caucasian races. The converse, however, is not necessarily true. If we are to explore the question "Why do white men date asian women?", we will find that the answers are very deeply rooted in stereotypes for many White men.
